Why choose a yacht charter in Croatia this year? 7 reasons why it is a good idea to sail with The Yachting Club
The most beautiful season of the year – the sunny vacations in Europe – is only a few months away. If you wonder where you should spend your holiday this year with your family and friends, and you’d rather avoid the crowded public transport and large clusters of people, charting a catamaran in Croatia is the best option, and a great alternative to hotels and big cruise liners.
1. Croatia – stunning landscapes, the blue sea, and the sun.
From this year onwards, we invite you to charter Lagoon catamarans from two bases in Croatia: Šibenik and Dubrovnik.
Šibenik offers great opportunities of sailing in the beautiful Kornati, where – even in high season – you will easily find secluded anchorages and plenty of options to cool down. One of the musts of any sea journey from Šibenik are the breathtaking Krka waterfalls along with their magic landscapes and refreshing water. If you want to visit southern Dalmatia, the best place to begin your charter will be Dubrovnik. You will reach the beautiful lands of still undiscovered Montenegro or the exceptional Croatian isles – for example Hvar – within just a few hours of sailing. Of course when you begin your vacation in Dubrovnik, it will be a good idea to stroll down the old city and discover the nooks where the iconic “Game of Thrones” was filmed.
2. Yacht charter – perfect alternative to hotels and cruise liners.
Sailing in your own boat gives you exceptional comfort and independence. You can get away from the crowds and spend your holiday in the company of family and friends. You are the one who decides where to stay and for how long. You can spend the night in one of the numerous beautiful cities such as Split, Šibenik, or Dubrovnik, or you can dock your yacht in a little town on an island, or moor at a bay of an uninhabited island. Every catamaran from the fleet of The Yachting Club comes with a fully equipped kitchen in which you can prepare yummy dishes for the whole crew. You can even bake a birthday cake or a frutti di mare pizza.
3. Croatia is easy to reach by car.
Should you be worried that your flight might get cancelled, remember that you can easily go to Croatia with your own car. You can leave it in one of our stations for the whole duration of your charter. It takes approximately 10-15 hours to get to Croatia from Poland or Germany, 11 hours from Rome, while the trip from Vienna to Šibenik takes less than 7 hours.
4. Online shopping
Our bases – both Marina “Mandalina” in Šibenik, and Marina “Frapa” in Dubrovnik – are close to large shopping malls where you can buy anything you need for the charter. However, if you don’t want to waste your time walking around the shops, and you’d rather sail out immediately, you can order all the things you need (such as food and drinks) without leaving the house at an online shop we cooperate with. All your shopping will be waiting for you on the yacht on the day you begin the charter.
5. First-time sailors?
So, you have never chartered a yacht and you can’t sail (yet)? No worries, just hire one of our skippers. Our experienced skippers will handle all the things related to steering your yacht, while your main task will be to relax in the sun. The skipper will also tell you where to sail, suggesting the routes which will undoubtedly meet your holiday expectations.
6. Family holiday on a catamaran
The catamarans from The Yachting Club fleet are large boats produced by Lagoon, one of the best yacht shipyards in the world. On each yacht, there are at least 4 cabins with double beds and bathrooms, as well as separate berths for the crew. Catamaran is the best choice for families with children, offering lots of space and stability (due to its construction). When you sail on a catamaran, there are practically no heels, so you won’t need to worry about the safety of the youngest sailors. Arranging a sea journey with small kids, you should plan the route in such a way as to sail for about 4-5 hours at a stretch, and then take a break – for instance to plunge in the sea or kayak away. Our larger boats (Lagoon 450, Lagoon 46, Lagoon 50, and Lagoon 620) are equipped with TV and DVD sets. In our basess, we also have life jackets and – based on the rule “safety first” – we suggest that during the cruise any child on the deck should wear a life jacket.
7 . Professional crew: a skipper, a cook, and a host/hostess
Dreaming of a holiday that will let you forget your daily chores? Why don’t you hire a professional crew made up of a skipper, a cook, and a host/hostess who will make sure the weight is taken off your legs? The cook will prepare your favorite dishes from local products, while the hostess will take care of the neatness of the yacht, and prepare some nice snacks and drinks. The skipper will plan the voyage, navigating the boat throughout the whole charter. You will be able to relish the beauty of nature, and you’ll have a great time with your family. Pure fun!
